Cape Town, South Africa
After a busy market day vendors are closing down their market stalls on a Greenmarket Square. Few hours later the square is empty and silent. Take a nwe look to places you see every day. How do they look at the different times of a day or a year? Stop to listening the story.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette
South Africa
It’s four to five hours drive from Mbabane (Swaziland) to Jo’burg. On that road I got this snapshot of a truck’s silhouette against the red and golden sky.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Relic
Cape Town, South Africa
Near Cape Town dock there is several old ships on a dryland. I have no idea will those ships sail ever again. Maybe some of those will. Others are probably just getting rust and waiting for their final destination. To me their are relics.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument
South Africa
The monument I want to show to you is Robben Island. It’s a symbol of fight for freedom and equality.
During the apartheid (and even before) many political prisoners were sent to Robben Island to serve their sentences. One of the prisoners was Nelson Mandela who spent 18 years there. You can only imagine what it’s like to spent a decade or two in a place like that just because you want that all the same rights (to study, to vote, to live where you want) belong to every one.
In their song Asimbonanga (Mandela) Johnny Clegg and Savuka call for some of those anti-apartheid activist who were in Robben Island in 1987 when the song was released. You should check that out.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside
Cape of Good Hope, South Africa
In this situation you really want to stay inside! Baboons are cheeky. They’ll steel everything they can. Especially food. Thay might be agressive too. Once in Zambia a baboon tried to steel my camera which was hanging around my neck. We had a battle about which one of us is bigger and scarier. I won (because I can be really scary) and the baboon run away. Baboons are fun to watch but not so fun to confront.
Sorry about the poor quality of the photo. It was a quick snapshot through a buswindow.
